Aberdeen based communications company 4MS has won a national award from Cisco for the fifth year running.

The prestigious award was presented at the flagship Cisco Scotland Partner Forum dinner at Dunblane Hydro, attended by 180 Cisco professionals from across the country.

4MS Network Solutions Ltd is a Cisco Premier Partner which provides technology for each step in the business communications lifecycle - from preparing, planning and designing the network infrastructure to installation, operation and support services for complex energy industry systems.

Since its launch in 2007, 4MS has won awards form Cisco no less than six times including Enterprise Partner of the Year twice, and Security Architecture Partner of the Year in 2014. This year’s award, the Cisco Special Recognition Award, was presented by Donald McLaughlin, a Cisco Director and Scotland Country Manager, to reward consistent best practice, commitment to Cisco and the quality of the company’s work over the last four years.

Donald McLaughlin commented, “4MS are a company who are on the leading edge of Cisco Technologies, the special recognition that they received at tonight’s Scottish Partner Forum is to highlight that 4MS were the first Cisco Partner in the UK to position and deploy our new Cisco One Software.”

Hugh MacKay, Managing Director of 4MS said, “This Special Recognition Award is a tremendous achievement and reflects the incredible hard work and commitment of our team to our clients and high quality solutions across Cisco's portfolio”

One of the biggest current challenges in business communications is the increasingly pervasive nature of network use and the overlap between business and personal communications. 4MS is working with Cisco to ensure their clients can meet the rapidly evolving requirements for secure, flexible and scalable IP communications solutions.

Hugh Mackay, “There are so many more devices connecting to the network than a few years ago. These can range from personal devices on WiFi networks where people expect to be contactable all the time for social and professional needs using smartphones and tablets, to scenarios where industrial systems such as ships’ engines provide real time monitoring, diagnostics and control data over the network to a manufacturer’s specialist engineers on the other side of the world while the ship is on operations in the North Sea. We relish these challenges and look forward to continuing to provide award-winning service to clients on and offshore.”
